Hello everyone!
I joined a few weeks ago but am just now taking the time to introduce myself.
Please excuse me as my dad is very ill and his needs come first.
I live in central South Carolina, USA. Bananas are just one of the many interests I enjoy. My current stock of banana varieties include:
Dwarf Cavendish, Dwarf Namwah, Dwarf Orinoco, Dwarf Red, Double Mahoi,
Blue Java, Rajapuri.
Some other interests are: Citrus, Japanese persimmons, Pineapple Guava,
I keep my tropicals in a heated greenhouse that I built this fall. I also have many other plants in the greenhouse too numerous to name at this time.
I am enjoying reading the posts and looking at everyone's photos. I am really glad I found this forum, and look forward to getting know everyone and learning all I can about bananas.

Welcome! Ladybug2.
I envy you that you have a greenhouse. I'm in Georgia; hard to grow any fruit trees indoors. Nice to have you with us.

What a warm welcome! Thank you for your gracious hospitality.
My dad is in Anniston, Ala. I have to travel every week to check on him. He is 87 and near death. He is at peace and ready to go (his words) and I am at peace also. It truly is a privilege to care for the one who gave you life. It is part of the circle of life. Thank each of you for your kind words.
I didn't mean to start a post about family. I have worked in the plant industry for several years and I have found that within that environment there are some of the most loving and considerate people. Your kind responses continue to re-enforce that finding. :)

I am pretty sure there are a couple more, I can't remember them all at this moment.
You can catch me on the Citrus Growers forum as :citrusgalore
They also have a page for "other fruit beside citrus" and I find that many of them also have bananas. In fact, that is how I got started. I purchased my first two Namwah's from a member there.
