17 years ago my wife found this recipe in local newspaper. Somehow she mistook Chestnuts for Water Chestnuts and has been making it this way every since. It's the best stuffing I've ever had bar none! One of these days we'll use real Chestnuts but for now I love it the way my wife makes it! My mother even started making this instead of our family recipe that uses oysters.

Weird, I had replied to this thread this morning but I guess the post was lost when Jarred had to do a restoration or something after the site went down.

Thanks for the recipe, Mitchel, I collect them and saved a copy of this.

My mom also substituted water chestnuts some 30-40 years ago until we got enlightened after I started growing chestnuts about 10 years ago.

By the way, a new customer alerted me to the fact that he found me because one of my existing customers published a testimonial on a shaving forum (who would have guessed there was such a thing??? wouldn't they prefer to chat about bananas???). Check it out at Badger & Blade - View Single Post - Chestnuts Roasting on an..... (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=1630181&postcount=9) :)

Awesome, Mitchel! Thanx for sharing! Looks like it'd go great with coffee, too!
Site went down!? Jeeps! Well, it missed the palms thread, LOL!

That's a rather odd website. Who woulda thunk it!

Those shaving dudes probably would think the same about this forum! Ah, the joys of shaving vs. me going out freezing my butt off this morning to hose down my bananas due to another heavy frost! :ha:

My wife says: "stuffing with green stuff in it????"
