Hello everyone!

I'm looking to get a compost bin, but I cant seem to find one locally must be a seasonal thing. Do you have any suggestions of a good site to get one from? I know there are a dozen sites but is there one that is more reliable.

Also what have been your experiences with using a bin instead of tumbler? Any recommended "brand"?

I've tried the pile method but I have dogs and they love to roll around in it so I think maybe a bin or tumbler would work better.

another option would be to make one out of Pallets

Thanks for your help.

I am going to be using the pallet method myself. You can usually find a local business that will give them away for free, and the wood isn't prone to rotting for quite a while.

I've seen alot of postings on craigslist for Pallets but they all seem on the other side of town.

Anyone tried soilsaver compost bin?

You can still get them here at Lowe's. Try calling around at those to see if they have any left. I think they are around $50 though. Pallets can be free.

I use metal "U" stakes and 32-inch tall wire garden fencing. Just make a rectangular perimeter out of the fencing and start throwing stuff in. A good place to put it is in a location where you plan to have a garden bed in a few years.
