I don't know if it's just my machine, or what. When I click on a thread that I want to see, an ad will appear in the banner, at the top, and the page I want will appear right below that except when the "Courtyard by Marriot" ad comes up in the rotation. The Courtyard banner comes up, and that's it. Nothing else happens. The page I clicked on doesn't appear; only the Marriot ad. At least so far, this has not happened with any of the other ads.

I mentioned this before it was happening to me the same ad. It went away for a couple of weeks but just in the last two it's come back. The Courtyard by Marriot with green banner.

Same here. Anyone contacted one of the moderators about this problem?

Me too, even on my super fast work computer it does the same. I have to click back and forth a couple times for it to work. I hope we can fix this. :(

For whatever reason I have not seen a single ad in the forum. I don't know why, but i'm sure not complaining!

wow I wish I could say the same.
These adds do seem to be slowing things down a lot.
Adblock plus is a great addon, but does not work with all adds.

No problems here w/ advertisements, but I'm experiencing persistent slow page loads when moving from various forums. So much so that I've needed to exit and relaunch, at times needing to exit/relaunch several times.

Seems to be isolated to this site; I've many other windows/sites open without this problem.

No problem with pop-up ads, though.

Those Marriott ads prevent me from viewing when clicking & moving to the 'NEW POST' tab.
Hope it can be rectified... :) ~Cheryl

OK heres how you disable the adds go to tools/internetoptions/security/ apply the maximum highest security level for this zone

so in other words slide the little bar all the way to the top this will apply the maximum security and not allow the down loading of any activeX script
Just know that if you go to sites that use flash player to display content you will have to add that site to your trusted site list in order to get the activX controls to work

When the page don't load I just refresh it until it works. Persistance pays off :^) Never know if all of us are overloading a server? & pop-ups no problem here..

ok i figured out a better way you can apply thouse setings to just Banana.org insted of the hole linternet go to the tools then internet options sacurity tab at the top you will see the icon's click on the one that says intranet a window will open click on the advanced tab you will see a window with Banana, org in it nexst to that is a butin that says add click that close the windo then rase the silder bar up all the way this will apply a high leveal of sacurity to just Banana.org any questions refer to my first post betwen the two it sould be clear but if your going to wach any vido or sound file on Banana.org you are going to have to lowere your sacurity setings to see or hear them

Now the same thing is happening with an ad from Sterling- a Kohler Company. The ad has a picture of a toilet on it.

I just sent Jarred a PM with a link to this thread so hopefully he'll look into it and be able to rectify the situation soon. Thanks for the continued information on this issue.

Are you guys using IE? I have Firefox3.6.3 and have no ads whatsoever.

Anyone using IE should get rid of it and switch to Firefox...it's WAY better. But maybe that's just my opinion.

And Howard, I'm using the same version of Firefox and I still have ads by google in the banner at the top. Not really that big of a deal to me, though. Pretty much every single website has ads anyway.

What browsers (and exact browser version) are you guys/gals using who had the problem? All info appreciated.

The Sterling ad appeared again today, and it still does the same thing. The Bananas.org logo, and the stuff above the ad show, along with the ad, but nothing comes up, below the ad.
Also today, two ads that I had not seen before, Prudential and Valet/cisco, are doing the same thing. Once the ad shows, everything just stops.

John, you're not alone. My puter locks & I can't do anything till the ad banners show. Even w/ my email. Yahoo is terrible for this. I click on a email & at bottom it says "waiting for cdn.eyewonder.com" - etc, which I think are places that sponser the ads. I just have to sit & wait for the ad to show.... frustrating. My browser is Firefox.

I've seen this a lot on another site w/IE 8
I did a Java update & that seemed to resolve a lot of problems
But every now & then there seems to be an ad that IE just does not like
I've had that tab crash & reload at times

One thing I do is to block cookies from Ad sites
Also clean out your cache/history & temp files
