Anyone done it? I would love to save a couple large DC leafs.
I found this video Preserving Leaves for Crafts - Better Homes and Gardens (http://www.bhg.com/videos/m/21895669/preserving-leaves-for-crafts.htm) Basically just mix a solution of glycerin and water and let the leaf absorb it up. Wouldn't the large leaf end up just dripping all its water out thus ruining the solution? Maybe I could use one of those food saver vacuum sealers?

I know if you're going to cook with them, you can freeze banana leaves. I suppose if you wanted to make one of those cement hypertufa things with them, they would be ok if they'd been previously frozen. I know the glycerin works with oak leaves and brings out lots of color in them. But they are quite a bit stiffer than banana leaves. Check and see how much the stuff costs and let that be your deciding factor, that's how I usually operate around here...lol...

freezing is the most economical and ready to use when needed. My wife always does that because banana leaves are rare to find here in my area.
