I have a 1/2 whiskey barrell outside full of tea-colored rain water (tea colour from the whiskey barrell) would this be OK too water my container grown banana plant in or NOT? If NOT if i get some clean rain-water would THAT be OK? PLEASE SEE PIC...ADDED TODAY!
THANKS AGAIN ALL!
P.S. Would the colour of the water from the wood be beneficial too the plant...cuz whiskey barrells are un-treated with chemicals...i think

Check it with a pH meter and toss it if the pH is below 5.7 or above 7.1

I just checked the PH and yes its a little above 7...is this caused by the wood or is all rain water different in PH?

Hard to say what the source of alkalinity is in that situation. But for some reason, it is slightly alkaline and I would personally not use it on most plants.
