Got some new stuff today. I got a Royal Purple ornata,
a Saba pup, a Rajapuri, and a Red Iholene pup (had this already tho).
Along with some blue hibiscus, purple sugarcane, palms, plus some others...
Not a bad day. I also mailed some more Velutina out,
so to the doc named Skull, I hope they bring you much joy.
I also recently placed a few 3' plants in the ground.
Those would be the 1,000 fingers, the Ice Cream, a Rose, an Apple, and the Mysore.
Still a lot more almost ready for the earth, sun & wind though.

I love getting new plants! Last week I got a mannii hybrid, 'Gran Nain' x acuminata subsp. zebrina, 'African Red', 'California Gold' and I just found out that this week I'll be getting 'Saba', 'Raja Puri', 'Mahoi', 'Pitogo' and textilis.

I have a Raja Puri which is blooming at 4', so I am doubting that it is a real Raja Puri. You know how easy to mix up mass produced TC plants sold at eBay. After waiting for 2.5 years, it bloomed at really low height.
So Mike gave me the genuine article. Thanks to Mike for a Real Raja Puri pup. It is now potted and I intend to keep it in the garage over the winter to insure survival.

I am waiting on Misi Luki, High-color mini and Williams to come in. Hope they get here soon! I have gotten several new bananas this year but am trying to stop from getting more right now until I see if I can store them all through the winter!

I got that disease when I first started, snapping up bargain prices at eBay, mostly TC plants, then met some guys at forums selling pups and trading. Collected almost 50 banana cultivars. So decided to put them out last winter. Few survived and only those survive will I keep.
I got my praying hands and musa rose this week...thanks Marc and Gabe! I am still awaiting on high color mini and my variegated pearl mini!

I won't put mine out until they are fairly large and acclimated. Here in GA even the "Hardy" are not real hardy at first.I thought about Praying Hands but decided it was a bit large. Wouldn't mind a Rose someday though.
i'm fortunate to have a fairly open backyard and a wife who is indulging me as i plant it all away! also fortunate to be living in south florida!

Banana lover - You will LOVE Misi Luki if it looks like mine. It is the prettiest plant I have of all green plants and it pups like crazy. I gave a nice size pup to a neighbor when we moved earlier this year, 3 months ago she brought me 2 pups it made about 8" tall. Those 2 plants are now about 4 feet and each have 3 pups. What I like about the plant is the leaves come out the top then the plant grows more before the next leaf. That way the leaves are not all bunched up at the top but rather staggered for a good ways down the trunk. (does this make sense?), The 4 foot plants have leaves coming out staggered up and down the trunk about 3-4 inches apart. Very wide leafs and dark green. Handsome plant.

That's a nice looking flower. How long did it take for that pinapple to bloom? I have two of them and they don't seem to like the dirrect sun so I keep them in the green house but still nothing.

i sometimes put a apple inside to hurry up ripening, they release ethylene gas. ..
but on some varieties you need to wait till black on them before they're ripe.. some bananas are good kinda firm and yellow..
here's where i start with banana sandwiches, ice cream, banana bread or muffins.. i have 2 kids and they love the rajas and we went thru 93 fruits in 2 weeks. cooked some green ones this years in oil, tasted like french fries.. cooked yellow ones in butter with brown sugar and tasted like french toast with syrup..
