Which of us has the warmest winter? Mine is "temperate", but I'm sure several of you are warmer yet. So far my sustained overnight lows are 50 F (10 C) with a quick drop to 48 F one hour before sunrise.

We had a brief cool spell with lows in the upper 40s, but last night the low was back in the 70s-- 73 and humidity was 100%.

Now that's warm! Our temperature+humidity here is "upside down". We have warm dry weather and then cool humid weather. Many imported plants struggle with it.

The humidity here has been really high even for here in Oct.--it has made mid 70s feel like August--you can't do anything without sweating.

Getting nice and cool here now and the dogs hesitate before they go in the pool. 8pm and it is 83f/28.5c with 65% humidity - the Dominicans will have woolly hats and jackets on any day now! It's a national crisis when the temperature falls much below 75f. We get the tog3 duvets out when that happens!

Hey I can Play this game.
It got down to 52 degrees for one day this month.
Our Average Temperature has been in the high 80's and low 90's.
Our heat index is usually over 100 degrees F.
We live close to the Gulf Stream and cold weather only last a few days.
As soon as the wind turns North East we're back up to high's of 80's.
There is a sliver along the coast here were we can grow some Tropical Fruits that won't survive even ten miles inland. We got it good on the US main land.
But Cassie might have it better.

Cassie, your dry season is opposite of ours. Ours is November thru April.
The other strange thing is you are surrounded by water, I would have thought you would get more rain just from convection and proximity to the ocean.
Very interesting..........

I dont think I can compete with these! My winters arent bad for a zone 7 on the east coast and we very rarely go below 10, and 5 is about the mimimal for the winter.

The warmest winter I recall was 01-02 where temps didnt go below 20 during the coldest night of the year. Thats a zone 9a! I probably could have gotten washingtonias to make it through the winter unprotected, and pindos and windmill palms let alone needle palms would have laughed at those temps! I do remember some snow though, and temps frequently went around the 20 degree mark, so this is definately not the equivelent to a zone 9 in florida.

On the flip side our record low all time is -2F to -15F (depending on the weather station), so thats pretty cold.

We only had 11.26 inches last month, Our high temp for the month was 91, our average high was 79 and our mean temp was 71.

Rainfall for the past 12 months has been 77.26 inches
