Hi I've got an Alocasia "Portadora" and after its had a new leaf for a few days, it starts to get spots that look "wet" they then turn white. Sometimes they're on the edge, sometimes in the middle. I've got them inside my sunroom, so the leaves aren't staying wet. What could be causing this?

I guess you could say they're Sun burned looking but- they start out as wet spots. wet. They get some sun in the "sunroom". I've also noticed that they (as well as the bananas) in the sunroom get droplets of water on their leaves. Is it normal for the plants to form water droplets?

If the drops of water are on the tips of the leaves this is from transpiration-a normal process for all plants. Perhaps the bananas are dripping the transpired water down onto your Alocasias. How cool does it get in the sunroom at night? The water could be cooling off and damaging the Alocasia leaves, though I doubt it.

It doesn't get really cold there the lowest outside temps we've had so far have been mid 40's- so it's probably always more than the mid 50's there. Another concern I've had with the Alocasia is that the leaves have gotten progressively smaller- not larger which is worrysome. Here's a picture of the spots-http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=24342&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=24342&ppuser=6032)
BTW I've taken out the mulch just in case of a fungus problem or something like that.
