Just wanted to share a few pics and some information about this past weekend's special day at the Bamboo Farm in Savannah, GA. Did any of you make it down/up/over there? Would love to hear more about it and see more pics if anyone was able to attend!!!

I did not make it this year. Looks like a lot of stuff was sold.

Sounds like it was fun and a good thing to do very kind. Good job. Thanks for posting the link.
I was there. It was fun something for the wife and kid to do while I was listening to Greg and deciding what I was going to buy that I did not have. It was nice to hear how excited all the new banana growers where to try and grow bananas. It was nice that thanks to this site I could answer most of the questions. I also learned a few new things that I could try next season. Sorry no pics.

Is this festival every year at the same time of the year?
Michael
Usually falls on the third weekend in October. Great place to get large plants pretty cheap.

I have never been, sounds like fun. On average what kind of price could I expect and how large of a plant?

Last year they were about 3-6 feet tall and $20 each.
It was the same this year 20.00. Bring a truck or you will be mad.

What did you learn? Any helpful hints for zone 8a growers?

I live 10 miles from the place and have always had to work on the saturday when they have this - I'm gonna make it over there one year.

Will trade computer support services (certified infosec engineer here) in exchange for plants :)
