I am just starting to get interested in planting trees and around where I live there are only several kinds of trees and I would love to add some new types and add some color other than what's already here, if you could help me out just let me know thanks.

Welcome :^) I'd look at what your lowest temp winter temp for the past 10-20 years and find the colored planted that can handle your environment unless you have a greenhouse or putting in the house over winter, or dry storing your banana's.

Welcome to the site! Hope you enjoy it here. Yeah, we need to know what zone you're in to help recommend species for your area. Are you looking for actual tree trees or banana trees?

No, I don't have a greenhouse but I live next to several giant empty ones. I'm actually looking for balsa trees or seeds but I would love to have a banana tree in my front yard as long as what actually does get planted there will be able to stay outside year round.

Welcome aboard, Kyle :) ! I'm right next door (Oklahoma zone-7) but don't know much about trees. But there are lots of members here that do! CValentine, Xavier, LilRaver, etc! Best place to start would be the "Other Plants" section.
It's a very friendly & info-packed site so don't be shy! If ya have any questions about using the forum, just ask.
