Here, in the Northeast, we have endured a cold spring, a cool summer, and late November weather in early October. Maybe we're finally going to get a break. Saw this note on the internet today.

Winter forecast: Warmer north, cooler south
Federal weather forecasters say the Midwest and northern states will likely get a warmer winter, while the Southeast should expect the opposite — cooler and wetter

My weatherman just said, don't think winter will be a bad one just cuz it was cold all year. "El Nino will make this a warmer winter". Oh yeah...that sounds like more snow!
Get ready Joan!

At least no frost yet by me! Pretty close one too. Even the deep south wasnt spared.

June of 09 was miserable and summer was cooler but it had some average (warm) periods. The warmest we got all year by me was ironically in April. We got 3 days in a row of all 90s with the highest being 93-94 degrees. At the time all my indoor plants were still being accumulated to the outdoor sun, and instead of getting burned from the cold they got sunburned (bad). The worst of it was the philodendron, but the cold june made up for that (the sun CAME OUT for 3 days, the highest temp was 82 (typical average for that time of the year is at least 85) and we got 12 inches of rain for the month).

So far winters looking like a stormy one, but Im going to play it safe and say the east coast gets average temps, but possibly a big time noreaster and those can dump A LOT of snow if it trackes too far off the coast.
