Yes that does sound weird. Reminds me of Joe Dirt. I have not tried to wash it off I will now....

Ok I washed it off it dried and came right back (twice)
So I don't know seems odd. either way it is a small spot on two lower leafs I could easily cut away effected area or just remove whole leafs. I just don't want it to spread ya know!
