It looks like it's adjusting to lower humidity possibly> when our humidity gets low the edges of the leaves look crispy like that. Did the place you purchased it from have mist on it before you took it home? The good news is that the new leaves on both mom and pup look fine, so I'd think your canopy is working out for them. Be a little patient. Superthrive won't burn plants as far as I know.
