It's a variegated TC mutant. I wouldn't suspect anything in the soil really. I just recently saw one of these at my work at the botanical gardens on Monday. You just have a weird plant, could dig it up and try to sell it as a variegated E. ventricosum 'Maurelli' (since it is one).
