I don't see the point of chopping a venticosum to get lots of pups. These plants get massive so you will struggle finding anywhere to over winter it if it gets too big. You will only get a couple of years max out of one plant then it gets too big.

You need to have patience as far as musa seeds go, those velutina seeds should sprout soon enough then you'll be extremely happy. They produce pups quite early in their life cycle and they may even fruit if you can keep them growing throughout the winter. I'm hoping to get mine to fruit.
