Uninstalling Norton Anitvirus doesn't get rid of the program completely. You may be able to remove it by using the removal tool that Michael posted above. If that doesn't work, you'll have to remove it from the registry.

For XP -> use Start -> run -> type msconfig (remover under services)
You should be able to use Defender to remove it in Vista
