Default new plans for new beds for spring 09

here are a few areas in my yard that are being transformed( hopefully soon) to edible landscapes( thanks to richard and miller mackinzie) with the additions of a few non- edible plants.

.
any ideas on what to plant on the hill???? i need something to keep the ground in check but i dont want too many hardscapes in there.
