Default Re: Growmore Seaweed extract

Welcome bahamafarmer, seaweed extract should be thought of more as a plant"insurance policy" rather than a main fertilizer. Seaweed contains virtually every micro nutrient known to man(at least according to Eliot Coleman) so what it does is make up for nutrients needed in very small quantities lacking in your primary fertilizer. I use it as well as adding straight seaweed to my compost or as a top dressing tilling it in every fall. Alaska fish fertilizer 5-1-1 is a great nitrogen source in combination with this for added green growth. I use it by the Gallon. Still you will need a balanced fertilizer if your goal is flowering and bananas. Hope this helps.
