Thanks for that update. Just judging on leaf, and stem characteristics alone, the one we are growing is definatly not Musa aurantiaca. Mine has a whole lot of red/maroon in the midrib, as well as light red on the underside of the leafs, as opposed to the all green one in the description.
So far it has put out 8 pups, two have nearly caught up with the mother, which seems to be bulking up a bit now, but still pushing regular leafs.
