That is a very particular feature of M. laterita or mislabeled "musa ornata bronze". I'm particularly looking to get one from Gabe in the near future.
At first it looks like a normal banana plant, with a hint of pink in the stem. when it flowers, the flower is a brick-red/orange, the bananas are green, and the bunch stays heading up. I've been told if you have multiple of these flowering one a couple days after the other they can cross-polinate and produce edible bananas, but can't assure that. Just my 2 cents.
