Default Re: Greetings Banana plant fanciers

Hi I'm bbbaaaaaaaccckkkk...AND GUESS WHAT! I bought ANOTHER BANANA PLANT! lol...

this time I purchased one from a guy in Clearwater Florida; it's a dwarf cavendish, only grows 5-6 feet, but in a pot, it can be controlled..hell, I have jades and split leaf phils that are 20yrs old that aren't going anywhere but their trunks are as thick as a man's arm...but my new plant isn't growing as fast as my SDC and I can't figure out why

so, tell me...is it true that banana plants outside of zone 8 (above it) will die the moment you bring them in for winter in spite of them living in a pot? I read on another site (people from Cali) making fun of us Northerners w/ banana plants, esp. SDC plants...but you should SEE mine! HE'S HUGE!!!!!!!!!!

I dont want him to die...
