Pinwheel Greetings!

I am so glad to have found this site! I am new today to this website and forum. I did not even know there was such a thing as a winter hardy banana until this year! How cool! A couple that lives about a mile from me have been growing them for about 4 years I just found out and I thought they were wintering them inside. Not so! I got curious and stopped to ask them about it. Their original plant is now a small forest of banana trees!

I purchased mine on clearance for about $7.00 about 4-6 weeks ago and it was about 1 foot tall. What a deal! About three feet tall now and it puts out a new leaf every week it seems and has 3 pups. It is a pretty green and looks healthy. I am learning a lot already and want to be sure that it survives the coming winter here in Michigan so I am counting on all of you to help me make that happen with all your good advice and I have some to share too! I love gardening and this banana is going to be fun to grow!
