My experience is limited to the tropics, so I don't think I can be of much help there. However, you are now growing one of the most toxic plants known to man - be cautious. I have collected some information on Oleander here (clicky linky), so you know what to do if you do end up being poisoned by it... happens more often than one would hope, really.
