I know I've seen pictures on here of other people's basjoos that are tall and beautiful. Mine (that I got from Stokes Tropicals) hasn't been much taller than 5 feet or so for the nearly 10 years I've had it. It has pupped many plants and seems generally healthy, but is just not a tall cultivar. It is also the least attractive of all varieties I have. I've heard at least one other person say that their basjoo seemed to be a dwarf also.

I believe that it may be the cultivar that you have.
