Today I was remembered to the questions about hail damages.
I want to show you 3 pictures (not the best quality, but) of a nearly destroyed banana plant, that wasn't damaged by hail. I cut it (much worthier than hail) with a machete because the group of plants became too big for a garden. These bananas are reaching a height of 6 to 7 meters.

Look picture
hail01 , that I took 9 month ago, where I cut the steam in a height of 80 cm (3 feet). And look the small steam that was growing later.

And on the pictures
hail02 and hail03 you can see the result just before harvest, 2 month ago.

So, be patient, your plant will recover and you will have no problem when you are cutting bad looking leaves, but not the three highest.
