I just want to say hello as this is my first thread and I just registered a few moments ago.I have had problems trying to get my banana plants growing after the second year.I have already threw 2 plants away this year as nothing is happening,no leaves yet, just seems dead, they seem to grow brilliant when I buy them.I give the plants plenty of water and tomato feed, any tips on feeding and growing them after the growing season will be great.
Thanks to you all

Too much water will cause the roots to rot. The soil around the roots can't be dry or soggy, but needs to be in-between. If you have them in pots, the best place to check the soil is in the holes at the bottom of the pot. If it is soggy, then it is not time to water.
If you are going to buy a specialty fertilizer, try a "Palm" food, rated something like 8-4-8. A "Rose" food rated 12-5-10 would also be good. Follow the directions on the package.
