- With some creative pvc construction and wiring, you can make "lamps" of any height for just about any purpose quite cheaply. And, take a look at the crazy lumen LED screw in lights you can get these days (gotta be mindful of the wattage):

My plants have been thriving in a smallish breakfast nook type space with the light mentioned in my previous post.
