Make sure you are protecting your black plastic pots from direct sun exposure for too long. Even a few minutes can cause the inside of the pot and adjacent soil to get very hot. Too long and that heat will radiate deep into the potting mix. Wrap it with something white or light colored or put it inside another pot with some insulation, i.e. ceramic, wood, or a bigger plastic pot with air space between the inner and outer pots
Very good idea! I have been taking my sprayer and hosing down the outside of the pots and the ground around them during the hottest part of the day. I donít know if that helps any but Iím giving it a go anyways. Iíll definitely use something to cover the black pots.
