Question winterizing

Hi,

I live in Queens, NY. Since the weather has been cold, I repotted and brought my banana plants indoors. However, two of them have brown leaves and don't seem to be making new shoots. Can anyone tell me if I should clip them back or cover them with plastic? It is normally above 70 degrees F in the room where they are.

Thank you for your help,
Diane
