i don't know, I thought I heard somewhere that some kinds didn't produce fruit or that they weren't edible.

Is that plant going to climb up something or is it just going to sprawl on the ground? I saw a monstera at Leu Gardens that was maybe a hundred feet up into an oak tree. That's a very beautiful plant!
