my ae ae did the same thing, so i looked at the roots to see if any were active (or alive) roots, and seen they were brown, not good, so repotted in new dry soil and gave it half dose of liquid copper and watered about a half gallon,then did not water for the next week, it took about a week and she started to grow just fine and still is doing great, THANKS TO STEVE L (thank you steve)
