How cold is cold
First time growing bananas, towards the end of August and beginning of September, my TC plants showed some rough leaves. I think most of the damage comes from the salt in my tap water, more than the several >100F days.
There is also the possibility of running out of food, but that has been taken care of with generous dose of slow releasing fertilizer.
Nowadays the temperatures slightly fall to less than 68f while the day temperatures get to at least 75f.
So the question is, knowing these circumstances is it normal for bananas to slow down really bad even with day temps as high as 80?
Also, do bananas grow roots during the cold months? Do they expect fertilizers during their "dormancy"?
Thanks!
