Checking to see if you think these are ready to pick
I have two banana plants (one is ice-cream, and the second one, we don't remember the variety). We harvested the bananas from our first plant (ice-cream) a couple of months ago. Some of you helped me to determine if "ready to pick". Now, i am on the OTHER plant. I don't recall the variety. It is a shorter plant. The bananas started out smaller than the ice-cream plant. They are longer now. Still not "plump", still hard to touch. But there is an ever so slight yellow (or at least lighter green) tinge to them. With the Ice-Cream bananas, I actually should have picked them a week or more sooner - as 10-15 were already turning rotten. With this newer plant, i want to avoid leaving them too long. But i am afraid on the flip side, of cutting then down to early.

I will attempt to provide a LINK to the photos that i just uploaded. My id is OCBLUE. See if this takes you to the photo gallery for today's photos:

They will be the ones with SUBJECT: Checking to see if Ripe enough to pick.

Last comment and question. In supermarkets, you often purchase bananas when they are still slightly green. This makes me think that maybe i should harvest them while still green (as opposed to waiting for actual yellow in color)?

Thanks for any suggestions.
