Option 1 ... the plants can start regrowing and establish themselves by next spring. Then next spring cut off the upper part of the pstem that froze (soft mushy) and leave the lower part that still feels solid in the middle. Don't cut to the ground if you want to fruit bananas.
The other options will work to, but they are more work.
