Edison 40 years ago I hiked from Furnace Creek to the Panamint Mtn crest and stayed overnight, then down into Lone Pine. Nowadays I'm much more inclined to day hikes. If you happen to hike to Telescope Peak during mild "santa ana" conditions (high pressure system in central Nevada), then you are afforded a view of Mt.
