I purchased a Dwarf Banana early last month from one of those "big box nurseries."
On their website where I ordered it from it was labled "Super Dwarf Cavendish".
However I noticed SDC all seem to have dark markings on their leaves. My pup does not. I am wondering if it's actually a Dwarf Cavendish, or is it possible for SDC to not have the marks, depending on light conditions or nutrient factors?
The nursery in question seems like the type to make such mistakes...For instance they did not ship it very well..It arrived with all but one leaf bent or broken. Of course it's grown like a weed since then. It is almost hard to believe what I have now is the same small beat up plant I recieved not that long ago! It is no exxageration when these guys are happy they GROW LIKE A WEED
Maybe the phrase needs to be re-coined "Grows fast like a Banana plant!"
