There are many varieties from that region, but even so, I don’t think the evidence you state really narrows it down at all, many of the cutlivars found there are also found all over SE Asia, and unless someone has had many different types of bananas, took detailed notes, and knew exactly what type it is they were tasting, I wouldn’t give weight to that opinion. Everyone experiences taste differently, and it’s really not a very useful trait for IDing anyway.

To even attempt an ID, we’re going to need to see photos of the plants, and preferably fruit bunches on the plants.
