Smile Re: Which varities might be best able to deal with Allelopathic plants ?

I use pine fines as an ingredient in potting mix's and pine straw as a mulch and no issues with ferns, hostas and woodland plants.

Now for those nasty black walnuts Ostrich ferns seem unfazed growing under my trees. Lawn mower doesn't like them either.

Kills Kentucky 31 fescue and Finelawn 5GL grass as well....walnuts that sits on the lawn for a week will kill the grass to the dirt.
This year with the record rainfall walnuts will be plentiful.
The trees are heavy with nuts.

I do not grow any bananas by the trees.
