It doesn't get quite as tall as you'd like (about 7 ft vs 8-10 ft) and I'm not sure about the trunk thickness but you may look into Musa velutina (hot pink banana). It's fairly cold hardy (not as hardy as the Basjoo, though), has pretty pink fruit, and does well in containers. It also flowers at a relatively young age. The fruit is edible but it's typically grown as an ornamental.
