Default Re: Planting banana corm

Cincinnana - have you ever tried a mix of soilless (which I take to mean a peat based mix like pro-mix or such) and soil? We have pro mix with mycorrhizae and pure compost along with regular top soil and have been sort of mixing - from 1/2 of the peat mix to 1/3 peat plus compost/soil, figuring that good deal of nutrition comes with compost/soil.
Any suggestions on size of containers to max out size of plant while minimizing size of pot (weight)? Thinking of say a dwarf orinico and then a full sized orinico - what size pot for each if one wants to get to fruiting? (Iyour picture shows what we would consider a tiny pot :-)!
