Default Re: What's blooming in your garden? (bananas)

[quote=mari@adams.net;320208]This is a photo of the Orinoco that I have to dig. I put it on a tarp and dragged it to the basement. Very heavy. Last year it was in a pot and this year planted it in the ground. It got very tall and big. I repotted, after digging, it for the basement this year and thought I would leave it potted for next year, thought it would be easier to get in for winter. But from what you are saying, if I want it to flower (isn't that what we all want?) it would do best if replanted in the ground next year. Are the ones that flowered for you that were in the ground older than your potted ones? Glad to hear it will eventually flower in the north.

The ones in pots are usually pups, but a few will be going on their 3rd season next spring. They will go in the ground next spring.
