Re: When do California plants start flowering?
Because of our seasons bananas tend to flower mostly in the spring and fall, some during the summer, and rarely in winter. Rule of thumb: banana plant should flower approx 2-1/2 years after its appearance as a pup. Underwatering and underfertilizing will delay this process.
