Default Re: Mystery Banana

It’s 100% dwarf cavendish. Almost looks like a super dwarf. An older type like Novak. But it’s the conditions I’m sure. The wine spots sometimes don’t appear. On mine I normally don’t see them. Even ignoring everything about the plant that IDs it cavendish. Looking at the flower and bunch makes it very easy to tell it is a dwarf cavendish.

Dwarf namwa has a totally different growth habit and identifiers. I am 100% sure it’s not any Pisang Awak type like dwarf namwa.

You did an amazing job getting fruit in your zone! Honestly a cavendish is much harder than a dwarf namwa to flower! So great job! And the fruit IS different and better than the store nanners! You will see! I’m not sure what it is, but Home grown cavendish is so much better! Stronger flavor, creamy, and amazing. It is still a cavendish and still the cavendish taste but much better! Let them fill all the way! Great job! I am impressed!
