Default Re: I guess winter's over at my house...

So far I have the following that are starting to grow...

Cardaba, Ice Cream, Orinoco, Cheesemanii, and of course, the first to stir and also the fastest grower so far is the CA Gold. Rotted to mid stem were Mysore and Goldfinger. Rotted to the ground were Zebrina and Valery (might pull thru).

I can't say that we had a very hard winter. I need to think about more protection for next winter. I have an idea for protection that I'm working on so I'll keep y'all posted.

I watched the Cranes fly North this afternoon. My DW says she's been hearing them for the past week. It's usually a good sign that winter's over.

I'm looking forward to the next migration to come by. For about 4-6 weeks, there will be Painted Lady butterflies that travel through on their way from Mexico, to the orchards farther north. Last year I think it happened right around the middle to end of April.
