In the days leading up to Hurricane Maria we harvested over 80 cultivars and had plenty of bananas to share with the less fortunate.
Bananas were the only plants flowering after the storm but there was not enough, most of our bananas were harvested during August with the next major group set to flower in November.
The bees were hungry and there's always plenty of bananas on Manini Mountain.
The bees were fed during the day and the bats were fed during the night.
After the storm we had the normal amount of bats but that number kept rising and after a few nights there were thousands. A hundred pounds of bananas would be gone in a few hours.
