Hello I'm Robin and I'm new here. After lurking for a while I've desided to join this nice forum as my love for plants and especially Banana plants has grown significantly in the last year. I've learned here alot already thanks to you lot on this forum.
Last year I bought a Dwarf Cavendish in the middle of winter to keep indoors and it did nothing untill late march. I kept it dry untill first growth appeared. A month later I repotted and added dried cow manure pellets to stimulate growth. It worked and still workes wonderfully. However since then I also have a pest of Fungus Gnats for like 4 months now wich are hard to get rid off, but the plant and it's pups don't seem to be affected by them at all and look healthy. I've also noticed the soil contains mites witch could be beneficial as they kill the Fungus Gnats larvae correct? I've made a short video of it and I was hoping someone could determine if these are indeed the predatory type of mites I'm hoping they are. Here is the link:
