hi if your only talking about a few plants there is a way I have maintained rajapuri green and growing all minter in zone 7 out doors by digging a 6 ft dia hole 5 ft deep and topping with a doubled walled cover framed with 2x4s and covered with green house plastic( see my post in cold hardy bananas ) dwarf cavindished did not survive in the same setup died from cooler temps low of 42f this with an outside low of 8f this winter and to much moisture good drainage is a must i just remove the cover after the last frost I also have maintained psudo stems outdoors by covering with a 2 ft dia plastic bag and packing with dry leaves works for some varities and not others also velutina survive from the corm and come back each year if well established and fruit each year (20 weeks to fruit( not real tasty but great fun having seed spiting contest)
