so i guess you need an older pup in the fall, or else the timing will get messed up and will miss a year.
last year they ripened pretty late but had several pups as big as the mother. i was going for more plants rather than better fruit so i left all the pups on. the fruit i got wasn't much but tasted pretty good.
This year I can go for the fruit.
