Default Re: Rather than make my own

I don't really need a greenhouse unless I want to grow tropicals which I don't. The Aldi version is not a greenhouse and not even a hoop house. Gardenline 4-Tier Greenhouse - Aldi Weekly Ad - Titusville It's tiny. It would work to start seeds in zone 9 and maybe 8 but would behave like a coldframe I suspect in lower zones.

Up north I set seed trays on my radiators in front of sunny windows but here I've had issues starting seeds inside (not enough light and no rads). Outside in plastic containers (think wintersowing/very mini greenhouses) it's been too chilly by a few degrees for not erratic germination. Sure, seeds may come up fine eventually but our spring season is very short so you have to hit the road running in March with plants not sprouts. I think this might get me over the hurdle even if I had to cover it on a few nights.
